SUMMARY:Survivor's Stories: Generative Writing Workshop with Samantha Tuttle
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the second writing class of DVIP/RVAP’s new initiative: Survivors’ Stories\, a series of five writing classes between August 2026-July 2027. All are free and open to the public\, and survivors are encouraged to attend. \nAll classes will be trauma-informed\, and focused on themes of reclaiming one’s story\, releasing shame\, healing\, resilience\, and building community. Each workshop will last approximately 1.5 hours and conclude with an optional sharing opportunity for participants who wish to read their work aloud.\n\nA trained DVIP/RVAP advocate will be present at each session to provide support if needed.\n\nNOVEMBER 2026 CLASS DETAILS:\n\n\nDate/time: Saturday\, November 7\, 10:30am-12pm\nLocation: The Ranshaw House – 515 Community Dr\, North Liberty\, IA 52317\nInstructor: Samantha Tuttle is currently pursuing an MFA in poetry from the University of Arkansas. She has been in the survivor services space since 2020 and previously spent 2 years as a sexual assault services coordinator at DVIP/RVAP.
