Social Justice and Nonprofit Administration Internship - Domestic Violence Intervention Program

This is an opportunity for students to develop skills in the nonprofit sector and participate in career exploration and network development. This is also an opportunity for those looking to enhance their impact on Domestic Violence through community engagement.

Internship Requirements/Qualifications:
- Completing a major or minor in GWSS/Social Justice/Nonprofit Management or a related field.
- Knowledge of Domestic Violence and advocacy systems and availability to attend training
- Desire to learn about various aspects of the nonprofit realm.
- A self-starter, able to be flexible with various tasks.
- Willing to learn and work from a trauma-informed model.
- Willing to learn about social justice advocacy on a local level.
Internship Description:
Our Social Justice and Nonprofit Administration Intern will assist with special projects and events, as well as general administration such as:
- Community Engagement
  - Outreach to the community at large through speaking engagements, presentations on Domestic Violence awareness, educating the public about DVIP and our services
  - Attend community events as a representative of DVIP
- Event Promotion and Preparation
  - Write, print, and design mailings or stuff envelopes for upcoming events and announcements.
  - Pick up supplies
  - Recruit volunteer assistance
  - Develop flyers for advertising
- Legislative Research
  - Work with Community Engagement team in developing rapid response legislative campaigns through political advocacy when needed
- Other Tasks
  - Assist with administrative needs in an office environment
  - Work with other departments at DVIP on Social Justice and/or Media campaigns
