Supporting Victim-Survivors through Community Partners

As a safe place for people seeking shelter from domestic or sexual violence, DVIP & RVAP relies heavily on the support of our funders. DVIP & RVAP couldn’t provide the excellent care that we do without all the help from our amazing community sponsors. We are proud to serve Johnson, Cedar, Iowa, Washington, Henry, Des Moines, Van Buren, and Lee counties, but we are more proud of their willingness and ability to come together to end domestic and sexual violence by supporting us. Because of their generous giving, our community is a better place. As a big thank you for everything they do behind the scenes, DVIP & RVAP would like to highlight a few of our top donor organizations for the year 2024.

  • Vortex Solutions has assisted us in website building, debugging services, and hosting fees since 2019. Their services have been paramount in our communication, documentation, and outreach abilities. Without their generous support, we would not be able to help our victim-survivors as effectively as we do now. Click here for more on Vortex Solutions.
  • Tru Salon donated two separate gifts in May, which were extremely timely. The organization has experienced large changes this year, with the completion of the new shelter and the transition of sexual violence support services to DVIP from the University of Iowa RVAP. These donations went a long way in helping us provide expert problem-solving and support to victim-survivors in Southeastern Iowa. Click here for more about Tru Salon.
  • Two Rivers Bank has been a constant ally to DVIP & RVAP; donating to our different campaigns nearly every year since 2016 and hosting multiple donation drives for high-need items. In 2024  they sponsored our annual Souper Bowl fundraising event as a Gold Member. This is our largest event of the year and their sponsorship helped to not only put on the event but to support those in need all year long. Click here for more about Two Rivers Bank.
  • Big Grove Brewery Not only brews great beer (have you tried Equalitea? The White Tea Honey Sour brewed to support DVIP & RVAP and create awareness about domestic violence and sexual violence services available in our communities!) but they do great work! Since 2018 they have supported our life-saving services with a variety of resources, venue location, soup donations, and a portion of Equalitea sales going directly to victim-survivors in Southeastern Iowa.  Click here for more about Big Grove Brewery.
  • First United Methodist Church Burlington is a staple member of the Burlington community, whose acts of service for others are felt far and wide. They have been donors to DVIP & RVAP since 2022 and this year they graciously gave us a large donation to help serve the people of Des Moines County. In parallel to their consummate service, we used these funds to help those who desperately needed it. Click here for more on the First United Methodist Church of Burlington.
  • Hills Bank and Trust has been a legacy supporter of DVIP and has donated over $40,000, provided over 1000 volunteer hours, and hosted countless in-kind donation drives. Their stalwart support of DVIP & RVAP through thick and thin has allowed us to continually serve victim survivors in our community for decades, and their kindness has made a huge impact in helping those most in need.
