Position: Volunteer Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Community Engagement

Hours: Non-Exempt, Varied

Starting at $52,400

Job Summary: DVIP/RVAP offers a comprehensive range of services, including crisis intervention, safe shelter, counseling, advocacy, and support to meet the needs of victims and their families. The Volunteer Coordinator is supervised by the Director of Community Engagement. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of civic group engagements, volunteer activities, and the organization of volunteer advocate training at DVIP/RVAP.  This position includes some direct services.

Certified Victim Advocate: Victim Counselor certification within the first year, and both domestic violence and sexual assault Certified Victim Advocate certifications are required within 6 months of Victim Counselor certification after appointment to the position.

Qualifications- Required:

  • AA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of interpersonal violence, including domestic violence and sexual assault, and systems advocacy
  • Understanding of issues of cultural and socioeconomic diversity as applied to interpersonal violence intervention services
  • Experience in peer advocacy and crisis intervention work

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for fulfilling the overall mission of the Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP/RVAP) in the provision of services to program participants. 
  • Develop, administer, and review policies and procedures that guide the volunteer programs and services, and reflect the overall values of the organization
  • Develop and implement goals and objectives for the volunteer program that reflect the mission of DVIP/RVAP
  • Identify volunteer assignments that provide meaningful work for volunteers and write the volunteer position descriptions in consultation with staff as appropriate
  • Promote the agency and the volunteer program to gain community support
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to recruit the right volunteers with the appropriate skills
  • Implement a screening process for potential volunteers according to accepted screening standards and practices of the agency; Develop and implement a media plan to recruit potential volunteers to ensure the best match between the skills, qualifications, and interests of the volunteers and the needs of the agency
  • Oversee the recruitment and learning experience of intern volunteers.

Position: Stewardship Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Community Engagement

Job Summary:

DVIP/RVAP (Domestic Violence Intervention Program) offers a comprehensive range of services, including crisis intervention, safe shelter, counseling, advocacy, and support to meet the needs of victims and their families. The Stewardship Coordinator is responsible for supporting administrative efforts by building and managing a portfolio of major monetary gift prospects and moving those prospects through the steps of an established process of donor engagement, collaborating with other DVIP/RVAP departments as needed. 

 

The Stewardship Coordinator will foster and maintain relationships with giving partners throughout the 8-county service region by developing strategies to identify major gift donors, increase private gift support, and build on existing donor relationships while working with the Community Engagement team to maximize and expand the donor base. This position will work as part of the Community Engagement Department and report to the Director of Community Engagement.

 

The Stewardship Coordinator will implement donor engagement and cultivation strategies, providing support to the Development Coordinator with event planning, managing organizational records, logistics, and the direct mail program. The Stewardship Coordinator will research and manage potential major gift prospects with the goal of maintaining continuous support from donors capable of making gifts of $50,000+. The Stewardship Coordinator must have a comprehensive understanding of fundraising best practices and ethics, the ability to manage complex database systems, possess excellent written, oral, and graphic communication skills, and a high degree of self-motivation, and be passionate about the programs and services offered by DVIP/RVAP. 

Certified Domestic and Sexual Abuse Advocate: Victim counselor certification required after appointment to position.

Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Agency

  • Works with the Director of Community Engagement, Executive Director, and Community Engagement team to develop strategies for meeting marketing and fundraising goals.

Fundraising

  • Meet monthly fundraising goals, as outlined in the annual Community Engagement Plan.
  • Designs, implements, and manages fundraising activities including annual giving, endowment and capital campaigns, special projects, and other agency-related solicitations.
  • Manage strategies and activities for donor cultivation, solicitation, and relations of major gifts of $50,000+.
  • Maintain contact with and develop grant proposals for foundations and corporations.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive planned-giving program.

Public Relations, Marketing, and Advertising

  • Works closely with the Director of Community Engagement, Executive Director, and Community Engagement team to implement fundraising, public relations plans, and advertising plans.
  • Implements strategies to promote DVIP/RVAP’s mission to the community at large.

The Director of Community Engagement, supervised by the Executive Director, is a fundraising position and is responsible for advancing the mission and programs of DVIP/RVAP through the creative engagement of community partners and individuals in supporting victims of domestic and sexual violence. The Director of Community Engagement supervises the Volunteer Coordinator, Development Coordinator, Community Engagement Coordinator, and the Stewardship Coordinator. This position includes some direct services.

Position: Executive Director

Salary: $85,000 – $110,000 annually

Job Summary:

The Domestic Violence Intervention Program/Rape Victim Advocacy Program is seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization in achieving its mission by overseeing all aspects of operations including program development, fundraising, financial management, and staff supervision; reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a proven track record in non-profit management, and a deep commitment to our cause.

The Mission of DVIP/RVAP is to provide comprehensive support and advocacy services to victims/survivors, focusing on immediate and long-term safety, empowerment, dignity, and hope. In collaboration with the community, we strive to end interpersonal violence through education, accountability, and social justice.

The Executive Director of DVIP & RVAP is the primary guide for developing the vision for the work—identifying the future that DVIP & RVAP is working to bring to life—and for setting the tone of the organization—fostering a culture that cares for both clients and staff to the highest standard possible. The Executive Director accomplishes these functions by maintaining expertise in gender-based violence, victim-survivor services and by carrying out executive administrative functions related to personnel, finances, and facilities. The Executive Director serves as the primary public representative of the organization.

DVIP/RVAP is a private non-profit organization that serves eight Southeastern Iowa Counties, providing 24-hour emergency crisis intervention services and outreach support to more than 3000 adults and youth annually. Our annual operating budget is approximately $4million and we employ 45 FTE staff.
