The Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) announces their first annual spring pancake breakfast at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar in Burlington, IA on Saturday, June 9th from 8:00 to 10:00 am
This event will provide an opportunity for community members to support those most in need within Des Moines County, 100% of the proceeds from this event will go directly to victim/survivors and residents of Journey House. Tickets are $5.00 each include pancakes, bacon, and a beverage. The Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) and the Burlington Area YMCA Domestic Violence Shelter announced their partnership on February 1st that will ensure the safety and dignity of victim/survivors of intimate partner violence. The partnership with DVIP will allow the YMCA Domestic Violence Shelter to expand beyond their existing emergency shelter housing services to add Journey House, a transitional housing for domestic violence victims and increase access to services to those in need. The funds raised on June 9th will help DVIP provide much needed free and confidential services to all victim/survivors of intimate partner violence. Those services include a 24-hour a day, 7-days a week toll-free hotline at 800.373.1043. Medical, legal, and social services advocacy, mobile advocacy and emergency pet sheltering.
