DVIP operates a 24/7 shelter for individuals and families fleeing intimate partner violence – this Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we are asking for your help in stocking up our shelter during our annual Shop-For-Shelter Campaign!

Last year, we received over 2,500 items in Johnson County alone for our shelter that lasted us until March of this year! Although usually our campaign takes place in-person, at local Hy-Vee locations, COVID-19 has changed our plans a bit. Until October 31st, you can donate groceries and gift cards to DVIP  at your local Hy-Vee and Fareway by placing donations in the “DVIP” bin by customer service. Additionally, if you cannot go to the stores in person, you can mail gift cards to our main office located at 1105 S. Gilbert Ct. Ste. #300 Iowa City, IA 52240.

On Sunday October 18th, 2020, DVIP staff will also be accepting donations from 10am to 3pm for a special drop-off day at our main office, located at 1105 S. Gilbert Ct Ste. #300, Iowa City.

DVIP staff will be accepting donations the rest of the month by appointment only; to make an appointment, please call 319.359.9353.

During these especially precarious times, your donation is helping victims and survivors that can’t count on a safe home to social distance or quarantine in. Thanks for making a difference!
