Get Involved This Summer: Volunteer with DVIP & RVAP!

Volunteering is a meaningful way to address the impact of domestic violence and sexual violence in our communities, and summer is a great time to do it! Here’s how you can get involved with DVIP & RVAP this season!

We’re looking for volunteers in Keosauqua to help us plant and maintain a community garden this summer. This is a hands-on opportunity that is perfect for anyone who enjoys being outside, getting their hands dirty, and supporting community engagement in a meaningful way. The produce grown will help support survivors and community members in Van Buren County and the surrounding areas. For more information, please contact us at communityengagement@dvipiowa.org

We’re also attending several community events this summer and need event volunteers to help make them a success! Event volunteers hand out resources, talk with community members, and support DVIP & RVAP staff throughout the day. These upcoming events include the Johnson County Fair , Iowa City Pride, and Solon Beef Days. Tabling and being present at these events allows DVIP & RVAP to raise awareness about the services DVIP & RVAP offers and reach people in need.

Sign up to volunteer here!

Finally, we are calling for the help of an artist or group of artists to design and create chalk art for the MidWestOne Bank Rock the Chalk event on August 8, 2025. This all-day event is an opportunity to use your artistic talents to help raise awareness about the services DVIP & RVAP offers and show public support for survivors. If you’re interested or know an artist who might be, contact us at communityengagement@dvipiowa.org.

Help DVIP & RVAP make this a summer of community, compassion, and impact. If you have any questions, contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 319.325.9223 or allisont@dvipiowa.org.
