The Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) is celebrating 40 years of serving victim/survivors. In 1980, our small first-year budget provided victims and their children emergency housing, counseling, and a 24-hour hotline. Over the 40-year history, there have been many additions to services, such as youth programming, pet sheltering, legal support, community engagement projects, and much more. Youth Art Show at Ten Thousand Villages

The Domestic Violence Intervention Program youth department is proud to partner with Ten Thousand Villages as their featured artist for the month of October. The show opening will be hosted on October 4th during the Downtown Gallery Walk.  The opening is free and open to the public. The art displayed during October's Domestic Violence Awareness Month features artwork made by youth from the past forty years that have resided in our emergency shelter.

On October 5th from 9 AM to 4 PM, the Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) is teaming up with all HyVee’s in Johnson County to support victims/survivors. DVIP will provide shoppers with a list of items and ask for their generous donations to be dropped off with a DVIP volunteer when they have completed their shopping. The Holiday Store offers DVIP clients a secure and confidential place to find gifts for their families at no charge.
